Do I need a permit to collect plants? Yes. You must apply to the Permits Office of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
Is it okay to dig up plants from the wild? No. This is illegal unless you have a permit, obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

Where can I purchase indigenous plants for my garden? The National Botanical Research Institute sells indigenous plants. The Directorate of Forestry also has nurseries in every region of Namibia where indigenous plants are sold.

If I see people digging up plants in the wild, who should I inform? Take a photo of them and note their vehicle number, if possible. Contact the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
