The Vegetation Ecology section aims at providing basic descriptive vegetation data to users, as well as monitoring vegetation changes as caused by global climate change and/or land use practices. For this purpose, the unit is undertaking the following projects:

• Vegetation Survey of Namibia

The unit is also involved in:

• Biodiversity Monitoring Transect Analysis in Africa (BIOTA)
• The Future Okavango
